Appointment & Referral Information

Patients:

+ Do I need a referral?

No, but if you have one it is always welcomed.

+ Can I claim through my Private Health Fund?

If your chosen health fund cover has the appropriate extras, then yes. You have the option to pay upfront and then claim directly through your health fund (many of the major health funds have a user friendly app that performs this function) or at the time of payment through a program called Tyro in which you will be asked to pay the gap fee upfront.

+ Are Medicare Team Care Arrangement Care Plans from a GP accepted?

Yes. Please note: you will be charged the full cost of the session and refunded the value of the benefit from Medicare (as current for March 2021 this is equal to $58)

+ What are the Fees and Services Offered?

Initial Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Assessment (60 minutes) = $180

Follow-up Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Review (30 minutes) = $100

Initial General Physiotherapy Assessment (30 minutes) = $105

Follow up General Physiotherapy Review (30 minutes) = $100

+ Cancellation Policy

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule your appointment. You can notify by text message, email or phone call.

If you provide less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee of $30.00 may be charged. If you do not arrive for your appointment and fail to provide notice, a fee equal to 50% of the consultation price will be charged.

If you are running late, please give as much notice as possible. We will attempt to accommodate you, however, if there is a patient booked immediately after you, your appointment may understandably be cut short.

+ FAQS

Will you perform an internal vaginal examination?

If you are presenting for a pelvic floor issue (such as POP, incontinence, pelvic pain, etc) in many cases, an internal examination is the best way to be able to accurately assess and deterrmine the best management plan to help you. You will always be fully educated on what is involved and what to expect and the examination will only go ahead with your informed consent.

What if I have my period?

Generally speaking, one in four women will likely have their period at any one time. Having your period does not affect assessment or treatment, which means you can still have your assessment at that time of the month. If you have an extremely painful or heavy period and are uncomfortable, then the assessment can be delayed to another time. You can still attend your appointment and complete other types of assessment or education.

Do you do telehealth appointments?

Given the recent COVID-19 global pandemic, EPFW is fully equipped to offer telehealth appointments. If you are unable to physically attend an apppointment, please ask Erin about this option for you.
